Buying a plan: the beginning of the pre-construction process
A blueprint will save you not only money but also time. Once you have purchased a plan it will mark the beginning of the construction process. As soon as the plan arrives show it to your local government building department to see if the plan abides all the laws. Minor changes to the plan are feasible, you can ask your home builders to do it for you. Your home builders will inspect the plan to know if there are any flaws in the design.
Get bids from different home builders
After you are sure you have found the best plan for your new home, you should take bids from at least four different home builders. You don’t need to hurry up and go for the first bidder. Pick the right home builder carefully, as this is the most crucial step. Investigate the builder you chose by contacting the home builders association to know if they are a member. Make sure the builder you chose has experience in the type of home you want to build.Making agreement is essential
Once you have shown the plan to the home builder and negotiated the price, you need to make sure you get all this negotiation written as an agreement and get it signed. A well-constructed agreement should have details of every step mentioned. Including the date of starting the project and completion, material to be used in the building and any other specification discussed should be mentioned. The payment schedule is also necessary to be mentioned.
